Talk to me out varicocele and morphology

Because DH has had a large varicocele on the left for years and years, and now has a smaller one on the right.

The doctors now think his morphology is what is causing the 2IF, but suggested that a repair might not help us out much.

The research we have looked at (he's an academic and went straight to the randomized controlled trials, lol) is somewhat scattered. Lots say "yes" and lots say "maybe not." I can't imagine the varicocele has NO effect, so I'm interested in hearing others' experiences. We're leaning toward a repair but I don't want to put him through it if there is zero chance it will help (3.5% strict morpho with most abnormality in the heads).

It's all good. Even the research has been little help. It's all so contradictory. I'm trying to live by the "it only takes one" mantra, but now that this whole thing got shifted to DH he's suddenly very interested in how to "fix" it. I don't want to put him through unnecessary surgery, though!

we have MFI issues too and my husband's urologist was basically no help. he said, it could help, maybe, but i really have no clue. thanks, doc, you really helped guide that decision. so anyway we aren't going to bother with it and just hope that weeding out the good guys and making it easier for them with IUI will do the trick. and we managed to get pregnant once on our own, so who knows.
